How to get your Starling statement as a PDF

Starling is a digital bank. Menus change from time to time, but your statements are usually in the same place:

1Open the Starling app and go to the account you want.

2Look for Statements (sometimes called Documents, or Statements and documents).

3Choose the month or period you need and download it as a PDF.

4Upload the PDF here. A photo or scan of a paper statement works too.

Tip: In the app you can usually choose the period for a statement, so downloading a whole month or tax year at once means fewer files to upload.

Can I convert a Starling statement to CSV or Excel?

Yes. Upload your Starling statement as a PDF, or as a photo or scan, and you get a clean table of dates, descriptions, money in, money out and balance. Download it as CSV or Excel, or in a format ready to import into Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent.

Is my Starling statement stored?

We do not store it. Your file is held in memory only while it is converted, and it is sent securely to Google's Gemini API to read the transactions. The privacy policy explains exactly how this works.

How much does it cost?

You can preview the first rows for free. A full export costs £2.49 for one statement, with a 24-hour pass and monthly plans if you have more. You do not need an account for a one-off export.

What file types and sizes work?

PDF, PNG, JPG and WebP files up to 4 MB each. One-off exports cover statements of up to 5 pages each, and monthly plans allow more.
